A HEALTHY EASTER

The Husband and I didn’t want to get a ton of candy for Easter because we were feeling sick from all the goodies we ate at Passover. So The Husband did a good job with surprising Princess A and I with this adorable Disney Princess Edible Arrangement. It came with a crown that Princess A is too small for but we are saving it for her. We nibbled on the fruit all day and it came with a chocolate covered pineapple bunny to satisfy our candy craving. It was so awesome we have decided to get one every Easter!

Thanks Karen for these fun pics! Now I just wish I had some 100 Monkeys cake!

RAWTHER FANCY ELOISE TEA AT THE PLAZA

Now it’s time for the grand finale. The actual Rawther Fancy Eloise Tea at the Plaza. Everything was perfect for kids and very fancy. They had these cute miniature tables set up in the tea room! The room had these adorable plates on display but they were smart and served everything on plastic ware because we know the kids would have broken these fab plates and cups!Princess A refused to sit still in the tiny chairs so they got her a high chair. Of course, she messed up the nice place setting with her feet. When they started to serve the food Princess A got very excited! To drink we had the option of water, pink lemonade, or tea. Princess A and I had pink lemonade. Here’s Princess A giving the stink eye because she wants her treats NOW!Seriously! Why is this taking so long!

It actually didn’t take that long Princess A just has no patience. The pink lemonade came in these cute plastic cups that we got to take home! The food came on a glam three-tiered dish. Princess A refused to smile for the picture because she wanted her cupcake NOW!She ate the fruit so fast I couldn’t get a good picture!Cookie, it has been nice knowing you but I will have to eat you now.Princess A enjoyed her cookie but then she was ready for MORE!She enjoyed the rainbow cake. But the miniature cannoli was her favorite.Yum Yum!She had the pink cupcake last. The cupcake was my favorite. After she had devoured everything Princess A was pretty messy. Luckily, they had wipes to clean the kids off with!Next it was story time. They read an Eloise book of course. Princess A didn’t pay much attention to the story because she was too busy cruising on the round pink couches. I loved the story though.

At the end all the kids got gift bags with an etiquette book, gift card, pencil, pad of paper, and some other goodies. I will take pictures of that soon!

The tea costs $50 a person and was well worth it considering everything we got out of it. They also have etiquette classes and other events at the Eloise store. I will have to wait 4 years though because you have to be 5 to take the manners class which is totally understandable. Princess A would probably make the manners teacher want to pull her hair out because she would just be running and babbling all over the place.

For more info on the tea, the Eloise store, or other Eloise events please click HERE. If you are a fan of Eloise or have a little girl I highly suggest the Eloise Tea!

BABY AND THE TRAMP

Last week I had a really hectic day and I was rushing home with Princess A because she hadn’t had dinner yet and it was getting close to her bedtime. Princess A is a pretty well-behaved baby but if she doesn’t get in bed when she wants to WATCH OUT! A princess needs her beauty sleep after all. The whole way home I was trying to figure out what I would feed her for dinner and how I could make it really fast.

When I walked into our apartment I realized how smart I was to marry The Husband. He had already made dinner for us and not just any dinner but spaghetti and meatballs. This was the first time Princess A had eaten spaghetti and it was a messy but fun experience. Freckles loved it to and it reminded me a bit of the spaghetti scene in Lady and the Tramp. Except there is no way Princess A or Freckles would willingly give the other one the last meatball! They would probably fight a duel for it so I had to referee the spaghetti experience!Princess A loved the spaghetti so much she got it all over herself!Whatcha looking at? Can’t a kid enjoy their spaghetti in peace?Of course Freckles had to help her eat it!It’s hard to tell because Freckles is a red head but he was covered in spaghetti and marinara sauce. Here’s another shot. And another!Princess A loved the spaghetti so much she fell asleep again at dinner!!!!

Thanks again Husband for the amazing dinner and for being psychic and knowing I wouldn’t have time to cook!!!

PARIS IN NEW YORK

The Husband and I needed a date night so we took the train to my favorite part of New York… Soho!I brought the glam purse The Husband bought me for my birthday!I also wore the pink tights he bought me.And the Eiffel Tower earrings my mother in law bought me for my birthday. We got off at Spring Street. This stop has special meaning to me because it’s where I lived when I went to college and when I was single I got my first apartment in Soho. The Husband took this fun picture that made me look like I was an angel with a halo and wings! So my favorite restaurant you ask? It’s Balthazar. The first time I went here was when I was 17. Since then I have eaten there with basically every one of my friends and family members. I love it because it has amazing French food and it makes me feel like I am in Paris! The ceilings are gorgeous with fans and intricate designs!I love the mirrors that are all around Balthazar. It makes it look like a fabulous French funhouse! To start I had french onion soup and The Husband had escargot. While we waited for our main course I took a picture of myself in the fun mirrors!!!The Husband and I both ordered the same thing… steak frites.Doesn’t he look cute eating french fries? For dessert I had mango cheesecake and The Husband had profiteroles. They were both yummy!!!I always feel a restaurant isn’t truly fabulous unless it’s bathrooms are fabulous as well. Balthazar has stairs leading to their restroom with these pretty wall lamps. The waiting room outside the restrooms has this gorgeous ceiling! It reminds me of the ceiling at Chez Julien in Paris!I love how crowded Balthazar always is!Oh and I can’t forget the glam bar stools! Before long it was time to head home and release Grandpa L from his babysitting duties! I can’t wait to take Princess A to Balthazar when she is older!

ALMOND MILK TO THE RESCUE!

Princess decided to stop drinking Formula when she was 10 months old. So I switched to milk which she was never into. I tried various types of milk and soy milk too. Princess A refused all of them. She loves yogurt and cheese but I wanted her diet to be more diverse. Luckily, SuperGlamFan Judi recommended almond milk. Princess A loves it!!! I love it because it has 45% calcium and no saturated fat while whole milk has only 30% of your daily calcium and tons of saturated fat. I find it odd that when I talked to my pediatrician about how my daughter refused milk and that I was concerned about her not getting enough calcium she never suggested almond milk. The doctor’s must be getting a cut of the all dairy product profits!

So now that I have Princess A getting more calcium I need some advice on iron. She doesn’t like red meat and rarely eats it. She does love tomatoes and spinach though which are high in iron. But again I want her diet to be diverse… so any suggestions on other healthy foods that are high in iron? And if you have any more suggestions on calcium let me know!

PRINCESS A’S 1ST CUPCAKE

We were so excited to sing “Happy Birthday” to Princess A. I know I look like a pigicorn here!We didn’t know what Princess A would think of the whole thing! She definitely didn’t understand the candle. But she understood what the red velvet cupcake was and was very excited to eat it!She loved the frosting! And did a really good job eating it herself.Maybe the reason she knew what a cupcake was because that’s basically all I ate when I was pregnant with her!I made the rookie mom mistake of not taking the wrapper off before I gave her the cupcake. So when I tried to help her the cupcake landed on her dress. Sorry Princess A!But Princess A battled on and continued to eat the cupcake! We took a lot of pictures! Then she decided she had had enough of the cupcake.

So we got her some water in an Olivia cup and she drank it herself like the big 1 year old she is!After that she felt very refreshed and was ready to play some more!!!

Some of these pictures were taken by Grandma M. Unfortunately, when I uploaded her pictures they got mixed up with mine so I have no idea which ones are hers and which ones I took. Anyway, thanks Grandma M for getting some cite pictures!
